Next to pickles, I think avocados are my absolute favorite food. Yes, avocados are high in fat. They have 21 grams of fat per 1 cup of sliced avocado. HOWEVER, 14 grams of that fat is monounsaturated fat which is actually GOOD for you. According to the American Heart Association, monounsaturated fats can help reduce bad cholesterol levels in your blood and lower your risk of heart disease and stroke.
