No Oil Basil Pesto

Here is my basic basil pesto recipe. You can toss it with pasta, use it in lasagnes, mix it with Vegenaise for a pesto mayo, or toss it in salads and quinoa. This pesto recipe has been updated to use no oil - its much healthier now and I doubt you could taste the difference!

No Oil Basil Pesto

Makes about 1 cup

Ingredients

No Oil Basil Pesto

  • 4 oz fresh basil
  • 2 garlic cloves
  • 1/4 cup whole almonds (or walnuts)
  • 1/3 cup nutritional yeast
  • 1 cup water

Blend

In your Vitamix, food processor or blender, combine all the ingredients and blend until you get a smooth sauce.
